Color cover for Of Hearth & the Harrowing and the logo with text: Build your hearth. Brave the wilds. Face the Harrowing.

We have been quiet lately as Erin and I focused on finishing the manuscript, layout, art, maps, and everything. Coming out of that, we have a book! We still want to keep up the playtests before we call it complete and ready, but we will beginning setting up distribution and printing tests next! Social media will go into more of an overdrive leading up to the release in just a little over a month. So exciting!

The latest playtests are going really well. The modifications to BRP seem to work really well for what we intended for the game, and the bugs and kinks being ironed out with each playtest.

The layout and art have really come together. Erin is a great artist, and I learned a lot along the way about layout (you gotta wear a ton of hats as an indie). Little did I know when I started this project over a year ago, what all I would learn, how long it would take, and how rewarding it would be (and let's be real, how much work).

To hold you over until the book releases here are some new page spreads!

Page layout of the how to play section, covering the basics of BRP.

Page spread of a Hexcrawl Example and Delving a Lair.

We cannot wait to get this book into your hands. If you want to playtest the game and are in the Austin suburbs, check out https://www.thesecretlantern.com/. I'll be running weekly playtests there for the next six weeks on Sunday afternoons.

We will also be at Chaosium Con US and Chupacabra Con in April and May. All the tickets (except for 1) for Chaosium Con's sessions for Of Hearth & the Harrowing are already booked out, but if there are enough people wanting sessions I could add more. Chupa has not opened session up for sign up yet (though the sessions are all approved).

It is gonna be a busy next couple of months, so get on the hype train, we got a book to release!

Do you want to help spread the word about the book? Be sure to like and share our social media posts. Want to chat with us or playtesters? Join our Discord!
