Of Hearth & the Harrowing GM Screen in the wilds of my kitchen

It has been a busy month, and we are just under halfway through! We have more goodies coming soon, but I wanted to get this one done. I know it is not the first expansion book. We are working hard on that one, but it is something that will help you run games if you are GM!

The new GM screen is out. You can pick it up at DriveThruRPG today. The front side has an image that spans all four panels, while the back side is chock full of tables from the core rulebook.

I love a good table, but I digress.

All through playtests and running the game since release I am always flipping through the book to grab the chart I need. I'm looking at you, Major Wound Table. And I knew that if was doing it, so were GMs.

I'll be honest, I'm generally not a GM Screen type person. I like rolling in the open. But the charts alone are worth the price of admission. And then the moment that screen goes up, I feel a sense of home and nostalgia, because I've been running games from behind a screen for so long.

Maybe I'll take a page from my GM friend Rich's playbook and roll into a dicetray outside of the screen, best of both worlds, dice roll what they may with the player's seeing the result, and beautiful screen full of charts to sit behind.

You could also just print out the chart side and have them on the table with you. Point is, you have options.

That is the one in the picture at the top of the article. Its a great deal, especially if you needed an insert friendly screen for anything else. You also get the PDF, so you can print out the charts yourself while you wait for lovely, sturdy screen to arrive in the mail.

No promises, as I don't control them, but I also found the POD screen printing to much faster than book printing. My print arrived on a Saturday, a week and a half after I ordered it!

Alrighty, enough talking about the GM Screen. Time for me to get back to work on the first expansion book.
